Companies are rolling out an all new troop of powerful, affluent, attribute-laden machines at prices that some time back would have seemed outlandish for something that rolls on 2 wheels just a few years ago. Quite a lot of motorcycles that recently went on sale or are expected any time in dealerships this spring cost somewhere roughly between $15,000 and $40,000, which spells more than a Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan. Harley-Davidson Inc.'s Rocker C gazes like a custom-built "chopper" and costs $19,495. BMW AG is taking orders for its racy looking Yankee priced at $25,375 HP2 Sport which adds up more than 25 percent more expensive than even its most deluxe models of cars. Ducati Motor Holding SpA is billing at $72,500 for the Desmosedici RR, based on a model that is being raced in professional competitions. Victory Motorcycles, a pact of Polaris Industries Inc., and MV Agusta, a unit of Cagiva SpA, are also rolling out new lines that are launching madly at new horizons.
